Dr. Hernandez earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Mount St. Mary's University, Master of Art in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University, a Master in Business Administration from Capella University, and her Doctor of Psychology from Ryokan College. 

She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT 46641) and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC 1471) in the state of California and a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist in the state of Texas (LMFT 204281).  

  Dr. Hernandez specializes in trauma, complex trauma and is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and ILF Neurofeedback.  Dr. Hernandez manages a team of 50+ providers to  ensure that all the teams backgrounds work in tandem to support the mental health needs of our clients and our communities.

Dr. Aragon earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University Fullerton, Master of Social Work from California State University Long Beach, a Master of Business Administration from Capella University, and her Doctor of Social Work from Capella University. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW 28038) and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC 1086) in California, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Colorado (CSW.09924742) and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Texas (LCSW 108336). Dr. Aragon holds a human resources management certificate from California State University Fullerton, and is a certified case manager through the Commission for Case Manager Certification.

  Dr. Aragon specializes in complex trauma, issues surrounding death and dying, and is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Alongside Dr. Hernandez, Dr. Aragon leads and trains the clinical team at Hernandez Counseling and Associates.

Mayra Contreras has extensive experience in front and back office management at a dental industry.  She is a graduate from California State University Dominguez Hills with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.  Mayra plans on continuing her education and training in the field of psychology.  Her broad knowledge of office management combined with psychology allow her to connect with staff and clients and provide the best service possible.  Mayra is certified as a Community Health Care worker and is currently developing various agency programs to enhance the care of our clients.

Edith Resnedez has over 30 years experience in the medical industry.  Her expertise has primarily been in front and back medical office management.  Personal medical assistant to physicians specialising in nephrology.  As she progressed through her career, she became a Patient Care Technician and managed the dialysis care of patients in Texas and then in California.  She later transitioned into medical billing and has been the with Hernandez Counseling & Associates in her capacity for the last 6 years.

Cathy comes to the agency with many years of experience in the medical field, more specifically in front and back office administration.  She is a graduate from California State University Fullerton in Criminal Justice.  Cathy's expertise int he last few years has been in intake and admissions.  Within the agency she has assumed the position of Admissions Coordinator in which she manages all internet, phone and email referrals for the agency and ensures that each client is assessed for one of our clinical programs.

Carlos Hernandez has extensive experience in customer care and facilities management.  He has over 22 years working for the Sleep Number Corporation as a technician and over 15 years in food distribution for acute and non-acute care facilities throughout Los Angeles County.  Carlos expertise in customer care and his technical skills have allowed him to offer supportive services to the agency and maintain a siren environment for our clients and staff.  Carlos takes pride in the appearance and maintenance of the offices to ensure that the clients are entering into a peaceful environment that is conducive to healing and growth.    

Wendy Mielke is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT 50973) in the state of

California with extensive experience supporting children, adolescents, and families impacted by

trauma. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master of Science in Counseling

from California State University, Fullerton.

Wendy specializes in trauma-informed care, with advanced training in PTSD-RI-5, Trauma-

Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Seeking Safety, Love and Logic, domestic

violence intervention, and CSEC (commercial sexual exploitation of children)/human trafficking. She is a certified Seeking Safety Champion and serves as an adherence rater for the model, demonstrating her commitment to maintaining the highest standards of clinical fidelity and effectiveness. Throughout her career, Wendy has provided clinical services across outpatient settings, group homes, and wraparound programs. She has also held leadership roles as a clinical supervisor and administrator, delivering direct services while guiding multidisciplinary teams to support children and families with complex needs.

Susan Emerson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW 76479) with extensive experience

in individual and family therapy, as well as administrative leadership, clinical supervision, and program management. She earned her Master of Arts in Social Work from California State University, Long Beach. Susan specializes in evidence-based practices including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Integrative Treatment for Complex Trauma in Adolescents (ITCT-A). She has also received formal training in the Positive Parenting Program and Crisis Oriented Recovery Services (CORS).

In addition to providing direct clinical services, Susan has held supervisory and leadership roles, offering clinical training, oversight, and mentorship to therapists and multidisciplinary teams. She brings a strong commitment to trauma-informed care and professional development, supporting both clients and clinicians.

Wanda Martinez earned her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from California State University,

Los Angeles and her Master of Social Work from California State University, Long Beach. She is

a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California. Wanda holds a Certificate of Recognition from the City of Los Angeles and is certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). She has specialized training in psychopathology, motivational interviewing, play therapy, and strengths-based and person-

centered approaches. Throughout her career, Wanda has provided mentorship services, completed administrative tasks and promoted positive social skills.
